How could this answer be improved? Take a copy of it, add it to a Slide and using a different colour add in things to improve it (it got a Level 2).
One way in which the characters in the extract fit the action adventure genre is that the hero (Nic Angel) tries to save the day. As he is a police officer the audience would see him as the classic archetypal hero which is shown in the shoot out scene with the villagers. This makes it more interesting and enjoyable for the viewers. Dangerous scenes create tension that audiences love as you get to see the action of the fight and we end up rooting for him over the seemingly lovely old people that have violent behaviours. Both of these are very typical in action adventure films.
Another way in which the extract fits the action adventure genre is that there is a fight scene between the good guys and the bad guys (binary opposition). This makes it more interesting and enjoyable for the viewers. It also emphasises how much danger the hero is in. By seeing that the hero is in danger we feel for them as we its typical for them to not be in danger.
question 2-, editing examples
Low Level 1
When Nic throws a gun to Danny. It is in slow motion. It lets the audience see what is being thrown.
Level 2
There is a lot of editing done throughout the extract and the most obvious is the cutting done between people and places. There are a lot of things going on in the extract and a lot of people shooting so by having short fast clips of all the people creates even more tension and anticipation for those watching. It makes it obvious about the danger the Nic and Danny are facing.
